Come Scale Away
 

Created for the 2024 Game Maker's Toolkit Game Jam, Come Scale Away is a classic side-scrolling platformer with a twist! It is  game where your size affects your physics. Make yourself small to jump over obstacles and pits, make yourself big to breakthrough walls. 

  • Made in Unity over the span of 4 days

  • Character that has 2 sizes, Small and Big

  • Endless repeating level 

  • Moving obstacles and platforms

 

GMTK's challenge was to make a game with an emphasis on physics, size and gravity. We agreed on the simple concept of almost floating in the air  when small and  falling when big. In such a short development time forces a designer to stick to the basics. To design almost by instinct.

 

We then decided to have endless replayability by making a level that loops forever, moving faster every time.

The Player must collect as many coins and survive as long as possible. Who can make the best score?
